One-On-One Yoga Therapy Policies, Procedures, Boundaries, Waivers & Protocols
Part of our first 80-min Intake Session is to thoroughly review these
POLICIES, PROCEDURES, BOUNDARIES, WAIVERS AND PROTOCOLS.
ILLNESS, SANITATION & HYGIENE PROTOCOL:
-
If in the seven days (one week) prior to the session you/the client OR your Yoga Therapist/Practitioner have experienced illness (fever/chills, cough, sneezing, congestion, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea), or have been exposed to an ill person, the session shall be rescheduled.
-
You/the client may request your Yoga Therapist/Practitioner wear a mask during treatment. Masks are available for use at your discretion.
-
Your Yoga Therapist/Practitioner shall sanitize the space well, post all sessions. Fresh linens shall cover bolsters and practitioners hands will be thoroughly washed pre and post sessions. You/the client agree to wash your hands upon arrival to the session.
-
You/the client agree to practice basic hygiene prior to the session: clean feet, open wounds are to be bandaged and attention to any strong body odours shall be addressed. Failure to fulfil this request may result in rescheduling the session.

PRACTICE, SESSION PLANNING & EQUIPMENT:
-
You are not required to practice what you learn in therapy at home.
-
IF you would like to develop a home practice, you are welcome to audio record your in-person sessions, or record the online Zoom session(s). If sessions are Zoom, you are encouraged to use the “Hide Self View” feature by hovering over your video until the ellipses (three dots) displays. Choose “Hide Self View”. Your yoga therapist/practitioner shall do the same, so that you both can be present and focused on one another.
-
Wear clothes you are comfortable in. You are free to wear sweats, baggie pants, hoodies, etc. Your yoga therapy session will be practiced in a non-judgmental, trauma-informed space. The latest yoga fashion is unnecessary. You can wear socks during practice if that is what makes you comfortable. The only request is that private anatomy is appropriately covered.
-
All mats and equipment will be provided for in-person sessions.
-
You are encouraged to bring water for hydration.
CONFIDENTIALITY, BOUNDARIES, GIFTS & COMMUNICATION POLICIES:
-
ALL information provided by you shall be kept confidential. You may request to see your file anytime. The limits of confidentiality are:

-
If sexual abuse/abuse/neglect is disclosed or strongly suspected in a person under the age of 18 or any vulnerable person, your Yoga Therapist/Practitioner has a duty to report to the Ministry of Child and Family Development.
-
If a court order is issued by a judge, or your Yoga Therapist/Practitioner is summoned to court on your behalf, information from your file may be released.
This is the end of the limits of confidentiality list.
-
Your Yoga Therapist/Practitioner can be reached during working-hours (Tuesday-Saturday 3pm-9pm), and will respond between sessions by email: armonia@gmail.com or by phone call 604-404-9033. Your Yoga Therapist/Practitioner will not respond to texts.
-
Your Yoga Therapist/Practitioner cannot accept any gifts from you/the client, or meet outside of sessions. Your referral of a friend, family member or colleague to Armonia Yoga & Art Therapy is the greatest gift, aside from being witness to your healing.
-
If you/the client happen to cross paths with your Yoga Therapist/Practitioner outside of yoga therapy, your Yoga Therapist/Practitioner will not acknowledge you, rather wait for you to approach. Otherwise, your Yoga Therapist/Practitioner will just carry on, with no hurt feelings.
